Chris Sisler
General Manager
Chris Sisler is General Manager of the Altmeyer Funeral Homes in Virginia Beach and Newport News, Virginia., Chris has been a Virginia licensed funeral director with the Altmeyer Funeral Homes since December of 2002. A native of Hampton Roads, Chris brings to the organization over 8 years of experience, and was a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science.
Chris resides in Virginia Beach with his wife, Lisa, and their two children Joshua and Blake. Chris and his family attend the Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk.
David J. Hodges
Funeral Director
David Hodges, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, has been with the Altmeyer Funeral Home since September of 1999. A resident of Virginia Beach, VA, since 1978, David was born and raised in the Tidewater Area. He graduated from Kempsville High School in 1989, then attended Tidewater Community College, and Old Dominion University. In August of 1999, David graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. He holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration, and an Associate of Science Degree in Funeral Service.
David attends the Immanuel Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA, with his family. He is also a member of the Pi Sigma Eta National Morticians Fraternity.

We provide you with warmth and understanding, quality service with integrity and dignity. It is our goal to serve our community with excellence in complete funeral service."
J. Tracy Bradshaw
Funeral Service Manager
J. Tracy Bradshaw, funeral director, started at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory in December 2000. Tracy was the manager of a local funeral home for two years before joining the Altmeyer Staff. Tracy has been in the funeral service profession for 15 years and is also an associate pastor with the Family Worship Center in Chesapeake, VA. He has been in ministry for 20 years.
Tracy attended Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, Georgia where he served as the chaplain of the PI SIGMA ETA funeral directors fraternity and graduated in March 1994 with honors.
Tracy was born in Norfolk, VA.
Ralph George
Funeral Director
Ralph George is a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service where he was President of the Student Council, and received the “Bill Pierce Award”, the distinguished award bestowed upon the recipient by their peers. Ralph has worked in a local funeral home in the Tidewater area for over twelve years before coming to Altmeyer Funeral Home. He is a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in Virginia and in the state of New York.
A native of Oklahoma and a U.S. navy veteran, Ralph has been a resident of Norfolk since 1979. Both he and his wife Cathy are members of the First Church of God, Anderson, in Norfolk. Ralph is Past Master of Ruth Masonic Lodge # 89 in Norfolk, member of the Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, member of the United States Amateur Poker Association, and loves to golf.
Larry Jennings
Funeral Service Manager
Larry Jennings had served for 15 years as a manager of a local funeral home in the Kempsville section of Virginia Beach before joining the Altmeyer Funeral Home.
He has been a licensed Funeral Director for 25 years, graduating in 1979 with an associate degree in mortuary sciences.
Larry is a member of the Masons belonging to Ruth Lodge No.89 in Norfolk. He also is a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. He is a member of the A.R.E. and an active Pastor of the Fellowship of the Inner Light Church in Virginia Beach, where he also serves as Vice- President of their Board of Directors.
He resides in the Carolanne Farms section of Kempsville with his wife, Sharon and family.
David Wells
Funeral Service Manager
David Wells is the manager of the Denbigh Chapel in Newport News, Virginia. He is a Dignity Coordinator for the Hampton-Richmond region and has been a funeral director since 1994. David received an Associates Degree from John Tyler Community College. David is a Real Estate Agent, a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Williamsburg, VA, Eastern Star Past Patron, Moose Lodge and is a Mason. David's hobbies are antique cars, flying and real estate.
Garland Harris
Funeral Service Intern
Garland Harris has been working for Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory since 1998 beginning his career as a Funeral Attendant part time. As of March, 2006, Garland started full time as a Funeral Service Intern. He is attending Mortuary School at Norfolk State University working towards his Funeral Directors license.
Garland served in the U.S. Navy for six years and achieved the rank of second class petty officer. After the Navy, Garland went to work for (Vepco) Dominion power then moved on to Virginia Natural Gas Co during their buy out. He was employed at the power company for 17 years before retiring.
Garland and his family regularly attend Gateway Freewill Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia where they have been members for over 30 years.
Garland resides in Norfolk with his wife Ann. They have four children and eight grandchildren. His hobbies are golf, golf, & golf.
Blanca O'Brien
Office Manager Newport News
Blanca is the office manager for our Denbigh Chapel in Newport News, Virginia. She has been a member of our staff since December of 2002.
She was born and raised in Peru, coming to the United States in 1970. She resided in Baltimore, MD before making her home in New Port News, Virginia in 1979 with her husband, Joseph. She has previously worked for the Traffic & Criminal Court of New Port News as a Spanish-English translator. She also was a translator and export-import clerk in Baltimore.
Blanca is a member and volunteer of St. Jerome's Catholic Church. She is a Cantor and a member of the church choir as well as a soloist for funerals, weddings, and christenings.
Blanca enjoys swimming, reading, music, singing, walking, exercise, cooking, and visiting her granddaughter. She also enjoys helping with the Spanish community.
Richard Pultz
Crematory Operator/Funeral Assistant
Richard Pultz has been a funeral assistant at the Riverside Chapel, Newport News, Virginia since 1998. He was born and raised in Newport News and resides with his wife, Donna Skipper Pultz. They have two sons, Richard L. Pultz, Jr. and Alan F. Pultz.
He is a 1965 graduate of Homer L. Ferguson High School. He graduated from Rittner's School of Floral Design in Boston, MA in 1966. He joined the US Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. He is retired from the Newport News Fire Department after 30 years of service. While in the fire department, he was a senior fire fighter and the fire equipment technician.
Richard is an active member of his community. He is a member of the First Baptist Church, Newport News, where he serves as a Sunday School General Officer. He has been a member of the Newport News Host Lions Club since 1985. While a member of NN Lions Club, he has served two terms as club president and has held many other offices and committee chairmanships. He also served for a number of years on the District Governor's Board of Directors. Through his service in the Lions Club International, Richard has assisted numerous members of his community who needed glasses and hearing aids.
He has been a strong supporter of the Newport News Public Schools and has been a very active member of many PTAs, among which are the Yates Elementary School PTA and Carver Elementary PTA. He served as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and the Carnival Committee at Carver for a number of years.
Richard Pultz brings many talents and skills to his position at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes. He takes his job very seriously and is very dedicated to the professional and dignified service to our families. He is compassionate and caring and treats our clients as members of his own extended family.
Robert Self
Crematory Operator/Funeral Assistant
Robert L. Self is a Crematory Operator and a Funeral Assistant. He has been with the Altmeyer Funeral Homes since 2005. He has a BSBA in Accounting from Campbell University and completed a course in Crematory Operation in December of 2005. Robert is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Newport News where he serves as an usher. He enjoys gardening, landscaping, and woodworking.
Lisa Wiggins
Office Manager
Lisa Wiggins is the Office Manager of our Riverside Chapel in Newport News, Virginia. She is a graduate of Menchville High School and attended Christopher Newport College. Lisa and her family are members of the Olivet Christian Church where she also serves as a youth sponsor. She was born and raised in Newport News where she resides with her husband, Rick and 3 daughters, Nicole, Brooke and Kimberly.
John T. Ferree
Funeral Attendant
John T. Ferree is a part-time Funeral Attendant and has been with the Altmeyer Funeral Home since 2003. John has a diploma in accounting and is a member of the Temple Baptist Church. He enjoys politics and sports.
Selmer W. Garland
Funeral Attendant
Selmer is a native of Shady Valley, TN. He attended the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University prior to entering the U.S. Navy. He is retired from the U.S. Navy and the United States General Accountability Office (GAO). Between those retirements, he taught Naval Science (NJROTC) at a local Virginia Beach High School.
Selmer and his wife, Polly, are enjoying 55 years plus of marriage and reside in Virginia Beach. They have a son and daughter, three grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Selmer enjoys golfing, traveling, local theatrical productions, and family activities. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity and regularly attends protestant worship services at the U.S. Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Norfolk, VA.
Selmer joined the Altmeyer Funeral Home Staff in 1998. He says, without hesitation, “My objective on the Altmeyer team is to achieve excellence in rendering high quality service, dependability, and satisfaction to every family I serve.”
Thomas Hutton
Funeral Attendant
Tom Hutton is a part-time Funeral Attendant and has been with Altmeyer Funeral Home since October, 1999.
Tom resides in Virginia Beach, VA with his wife Delores, whom he met while working at the funeral home. He was raised in Norfolk, VA and attended Maury High School until 1950. At that time he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a period of 4 years. During that time, he received his GED for high school equivalence. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1957 where he served until 1973. While stationed in California, he received his high school diploma from Lompoc High School in Lompoc, CA.
Tom has four children, ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
Tom is an ordained Baptist minister and is a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA. He is active as a part time Chaplain with a local Home Health and Hospice organization.
Delores Hutton
Funeral Attendant
Delores Hutton is a part-time Funeral Attendant and has been with Altmeyer Funeral Home since February 2000.
Delores was born and raised in Norfolk, VA and resided there until February, 2003. She moved to Virginia Beach after she married Tom Hutton, whom she met while working at the funeral home.
She is a graduate of Granby High School and retired from Civil Service after 25 years of service. She is a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia Dare Temple #33, Pythian Sisters and has served as Grand Chief of the Grand Temple Pythian Sisters of Virginia.
Delores enjoys doing volunteer work for a local Hospice organization
