Funeral Services

At Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, we offer many choices for conducting Funeral Services. We have prepared this page to help you understand what choices you have in making funeral plans for a traditional funeral.  (For information on cremation service, choose the Cremation Services link on the "Services" drop-down menu.)

THE VISITATION 

This can be for one or two days or just prior to the funeral service. Having visitation gives family and friends an opportunity to express their condolences and work through their grief. Photographs and memorabilia can be displayed to pay tribute to the life of the deceased, making the visitation and funeral more personal. 

THE FUNERAL SERVICE 

The funeral service can be held at the funeral home or in your church or synagogue. Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory serves people of all faiths, working closely with the clergy to make certain that the service is meaningful.  

GRAVESIDE SERVICE 

Some families choose to have a simple graveside service as opposed to the traditional funeral service in a church, synagogue, or funeral home. 

FORWARDING OF REMAINS TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME 

By contacting a funeral director at Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, plans can be made so that the deceased is taken to an out-of-town funeral home of your choice. 

RECEIVING REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME 

Again, by contacting one of our funeral directors at Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, all the details for bringing your loved one to our facility can be taken care of.
