What is Pre-Planning?
Today, more and more people are planning their funerals in advance. Pre-planning, or pre-arranging, is simply taking care of your service details before the need arises. Working together with a Funeral Planning Professional, who has special training and experience, you can be sure these details are taken care of.
Do you want a traditional funeral or simple memorial service? Would you prefer a burial or cremation? In addition, you can choose to personalize specific items such as people to notify, location, readings or favorite songs, flowers, clothing, and anything else that is important to you.
- Make your wishes known.
Your family and friends don’t have to guess what you want when you share your thoughts with them. And, by putting it in writing, you can be sure you’ll get the service you have planned for.
Preplanning can also help you determine exactly how much you should spend on all the specific events of your life that you would like honored and remembered.
- Personalize Your Service.
Create a positive celebration. With preplanning, those close to you will know what you would like highlighted about the life you’ve lived, so they can commemorate the “real you.”
- Be Satisfied, Knowing You Have Relieved an Emotional Burden for Your Family
Planning a special service after losing a loved one is never easy. It’s already a highly emotional time, and not knowing your finalwishes brings added stress to those you love.
How do you Pre-Plan?
It’s as easy as A-B-C! And our plan assistance service to you is FREE!
- A. Collect Personal Information.
This includes gathering all the facts that you will want people to remembers: your biographical information, career, hobbies, family and friends. You can include any other special interest you have to help make your service even more meaningful for those who attend.
- B. Make Arrangements.
When ready, you can sit down with one of Altmeyer Funeral Homes’ planning professionals who will explain the various options available. This information will help you determine your choice of service and make decisions on any other ideas you may have for your remembrance.
A statement of your service selections will then be kept at the funeral home until needed. And we do NOT charge a fee for assisting you in making your plan.
- C. Prefund Your Funeral
Funeral prices, like other things, increase over time. By prefunding at today’s prices, you can be assured that the money will be there to cover tomorrow’s funeral costs.
Prefunding can also help relieve the financial burden on those close to you. Handling the costs of a funeral, and possibly overspending because they weren’t certain of your wishes, can be extremely stressful and even a hardship. Once you have prefunded your services, you have taken that last step in assuring that your remembrance will be the way you want it with less stress on those left behind. This allows them to focus on remembering you and celebrating your life.
There are a variety of prefunding options available. Your planning professional would welcome the opportunity to sit down and go through these with you.
Give the Gift of Peace!
By both preplanning and prefunding, you can rest assured that your life will be remembered exactly how you want it to be.
